The Sudan Boy Scouts Association, the national Scouting organization of
Sudan, was founded
in 1916, and became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement
in 1956. Sudan Boy Scouts Association has 13,550 members, and 3448 members
Girl Scout .
The Scout Motto is "Kun Musta'idan", translating as "Be Prepared" .
The noun for a single Scout is Kashaf in Arabic.
Sudanese Scouts are active in serving the
community in leprosy projects, aids prevention, family planning, health
awareness and many other projects in cooperation with other organizations.
The outdoor life is one of the fundamental
activities in Sudan. The country has many forests and jungles suitable for
outdoor camping and hiking activities.
A voluntary, non-political
educational organization, open to all regardless of origin, race or
creed, in accordance with the purpose, principles and methods
conceived by the founder of the Scout Movement.
Sudan has Air Scout groups and Sea Scouts groups as well.
The group is subdivided into small units or troops according to
their ages. |
